Featuring an artist who has continued to paint sacred linden trees as symbols of the source of life connected to the earth

An artist of passion and belief

This museum is housed in a building designed by Endoh himself, with an impressive facade inspired by those of Greek temples.
Every detail of the museum itself, from the entrance doors to fixtures inside and outside the galleries, features decorative oak-wood designs. The museum boasts a collection of approximately 2,000 artworks by Endoh, who is still an active painter in his 90s, from his early to latest works. The respective sections of the museum are dedicated to works from different phases in his artistic career.
He has long remained committed to creating his works as an individual in pursuit of truth and his own religious faith while looking deeply into his inner self. He creates most of his works outdoors with deep emotion and awe at life around him, while immersing himself immediately in the fresh, overwhelming presence of nature. He has devoted 10 to 20 years to finishing each oil painting, which features profoundness and lucidness at the same time. His sketches in pencil, India ink, and black paint embody his burning passion and represent vitality so strong that they look as if they transcend the definition of sketches.
He continues to use different techniques to create a wide variety of works, including black and white paintings, works with a layer of oil and other coloring applied to a layer of sketch lines, oil paintings in thin (lucid), medium, and thick paint, watercolors, and paintings created with mixed techniques.
