Working to create a city that can sustainably reduce the environmental load

Kyoto City has three Clean Centers in its southern, northeastern, and northern parts, where waste is incinerated for its hygienic disposal and volume reduction. In addition, the city has two Resource Recycling Centers in the north and south, where recyclable waste is sorted and compressed in preparation for recycling, while in the eastern Kyoto landfill site (Ecoland Otowa-no-mori), incineration ash and non-burnable waste are disposed of by landfill. Only group visits are accepted on prior application.
