“Sustaina,” an ideal place to foster curiosity!

Sustaina Kyoto is an environmental learning facility attached to the Kyoto City Southern Clean Center, utilizing the center’s waste treatment equipment for educational purposes. You can closely observe powerfully working large-scale equipment, such as an incinerator, a waste-to-energy plant, and biogasification equipment, and learn from these living educational materials about the most advanced environmental technology.
In addition, Sustaina Kyoto offers programs tailored to visitors in each life stage, covering a wide range of fields, from waste reduction, through global warming and biodiversity, to local history from an environmental perspective. Hands-on exhibits designed for children and impactful videos and other exhibits intended for adults are displayed in various locations to stimulate the interest and curiosity of a wide variety of visitors, such a small children and students, including those on school trips, as well as businesspersons and other adults, so that they can enjoy learning.
