This is the place to meet the past, present and future - a place to meet designs from across the globe

Spreading the word about graphic design trends

This gallery holds planned exhibitions featuring wonderful Japanese and overseas graphic designers and artists working in the fields of posters, packaging and typography, etc. Dainippon Printing (DNP) set up the first gallery in Osaka in 1991 as a culture activity spot. From there, the gallery was taken over by the DNP culture promotion institute (established in 2008), finally moving to Kyoto in 2014.
In addition to exhibiting superb works that reflect our times and trends, the gallery also holds lectures and workshops featuring designers and artists working on the cusp of innovation. The planned exhibitions are staged 5 or 6 times a year, with some of them involving collaboration with local universities. From here on too, apart from being a beacon for international artistic culture, the gallery will keep “Kyoto” as its base in an effort to orchestrate diverse collaborations with artists, the heirs to traditional crafts and art universities, while also experimenting with new media formats.
